Control boards are model specific and must be an exact match. The board from one machine will not work in another even from the same brand. Have your model number and the board part number ready before you order.

How to find the right coffee machine control board

Coffee machine control boards are some of the most model-specific parts we stock. The board must match your exact machine model and in some cases the production run or revision number. Getting this wrong means the board will not work.

Before you order, check three things:

Your machine model number. It is on a sticker on the base or back of the machine. For Delonghi it starts with ECAM, ESAM, or EC. Write it down in full.

The part number on the old board. If the board is still in the machine and accessible, photograph it and look for any codes printed on the board itself. This is the most reliable way to get an exact match.

The fault you are experiencing. Control board faults can sometimes look like other issues. Before ordering a board, rule out simpler causes. A machine that won't start could be a faulty power cord or door switch. A board is an expensive part and one that needs a sparky to fit.

Signs your coffee machine control board may need replacing

Control boards are usually the last thing to check, not the first. Watch for these before assuming the board has failed:

  • The machine will not power on at all and the power cord and socket have been ruled out

  • The display is blank, flickering, or showing error codes that reset procedures do not clear

  • Buttons on the interface are unresponsive and the machine has been descaled and cleaned

  • The machine powers on but will not complete a cycle and all other parts have been checked

  • A sparky or technician has confirmed the board is the fault

A control board is one of the most expensive parts on a coffee machine. Always check simpler and cheaper parts first. If a coffee machine seal or a blocked pump is the real cause, you will save a lot by finding that first.

Fitting a coffee machine control board

The board sits inside the machine casing and connects to the display, buttons, pump, thermoblock, and other internal components. Getting the connections wrong can damage the new board or create a safety hazard.

How long will it take to get a coffee machine control board?

Control boards are not always in stock. Some need to be sourced and can take 1 to 3 weeks. We will give you the lead time before you pay so there are no surprises.

Is it worth replacing a coffee machine control board or should I buy a new machine?
