Buying Guide
HERE IS SOME INFORMATION TO HELP YOU WITH YOUR PURCHASE FROM STEVE'S APPLIANCE SPARES.
Who is Steve's Appliance Spares?
Steve's Appliance Spares is a four person team located in Palmerston North city, 100% NZ owned & operated. Our warehouse is located at 731C & D Tremaine Ave and ships out orders nationwide. We send out 200-300+ orders per day, every day is busy for us.
Steven is a trained EAS and was an EWRB Top Achiever in 2017, he doesn't repair appliances though as spare parts became more important since 2018 when Steve's Appliance Spares was founded. However, he can assist with searching for parts with advanced knowledge of appliances from Gentle Annies and Simpson Maxidry models, right through to WashSmarts and auto-dosing models. Whether it be ovens, dryers, dishwashers or washing machines, Steve's seen nearly every model and all the common faults and spares.
The rest of the team are good at receiving parts in, picking and packing orders.
What time are you open?
Monday - Friday, 9AM - 5PM. Closed on statutory holidays.
What do you offer?
Steve's Appliance Spares predominantly supplies spare parts to Trade and Wholesale customers for appliances, specializing in the distribution of factory direct spares, original brands and high quality alternative brand replacements.
Steve's Appliance Spares is an authorized distributor/reseller for most major brands.
Are your parts in stock?
As an independent parts retailer & distributor, our stock levels are one of the highest in New Zealand. We keep thousands of elements in stock, thousands of door seals in stock, thousands of energy regulators in stock and hundreds of common bearings, handles, filters, door locks, hinges, drain pumps, and more.
We do not state that all parts are in stock, nor guarantee every code listed is in stock, as its not feasible or possible given the size of the NZ market - margins are often approximately 20% or less for original code items (some as low as 0.4%), so holding onto stock for a few dollars, maybe once or twice a year is not feasible for uncommon items. Our service is to source anything you need as fast as possible, with the most popular parts readily available for fast dispatch. We have added an inventory quantity on pages to show stock levels of in stock items, this will be more accurate over time.
We stock high levels of LG water filters, lint filters, door gaskets, common shelves, fan motors, drain pumps, wash pump motors and anything we can keep 1 on the shelf if it comes from Australia - so we can prevent repair delays or delays to consumers.
Most common parts can be ordered in within a few working days if held in NZ by suppliers.
Does your prices include GST?
No, listing prices for products and freight exclude GST. Freight and GST are calculated during the checkout process. This is because it is easier on our B2B/Wholesale end for working out pricing and trade standard is excluding GST.
Can you source parts that aren't listed on your website?
Yes, I can. Email me - steve@appliancespares.nz
I can source: F&P, Electrolux, Simpson, Westinghouse, AEG, Samsung, LG, Panasonic, Bosch, Miele, Smeg, Omega, Midea, Haier and many more.
What is the expected delivery time frame?
If the item is in stock, usually 1-3 working days. Overnight courier if non-rural and in store. 1-5 days if item has to be ordered in and available in New Zealand. If the part is stored in Australia by the manufacturer, leadtime can range from 1-3 weeks.
Please understand, not all suppliers are easy to get information out of, I do my best with the amount of access to information I have.
Kenwood, Delonghi, Breville and Sunbeam all come from Australia, so there are longer wait times for these parts.
Standard extra leadtimes on top of delivery timeframes for items with no stock level:
Fisher & Paykel, Haier, Aspira, DCS Grills, Champion, Shacklock - 2-3 working days
LG Electronics - 2-3 working days for common items, very uncommon items come from AUS 2-3 weeks leadtime.
Electrolux, Westinghouse, Simpson, AEG - 5-7 working days, uncommon items come from AUS 3-4 weeks. There are delay notices regarding these brands' products currently.
Samsung - 2-7 working days

SEBO - 2-3 working days
Magimix - Can be delayed for a long time if no stock level

ILVE - 2-3 weeks if no stock level, no NZ distributor
Schweigen - 2-3 weeks if no stock level, no NZ distributor
If unsure, always ask first.
What are your freight costs?
$6+gst for small items, anything larger than A4 is $10-14+gst. Rural is extra. These will be reviewed as we get increasing costs from our freight suppliers.
Do you ship internationally?
No, I don't. I'm too busy with New Zealand orders to ship internationally. This will be reviewed in future.
Do your parts come with a warranty?
Yes, of course. 12 months warranty when installed by a registered electrical worker e.g appliance technician, electrician etc. If it is a non-electrical item, 12 months warranty. The return rate for items is currently lower than 0.1% (1/1000)
Some parts' warranty's are subject to appliance brands' discretion, I cannot control the warranty of third-party suppliers.
Do you repair appliances?
No. Please refer to https://www.appliancespares.nz/pages/need-a-serviceperson and find a local repairer to service your appliance.
