Coffee Machine Carafe

How to find the right carafe for your coffee machine

Carafes are not universal. A Delonghi drip coffee carafe will not fit a Braun or Bosch machine, and even within the same brand different models use different carafes. The only reliable way to confirm fit is your coffee machine's model number.

Before you order, check three things:

Your coffee machine model number. It is on a sticker on the base or back of the machine. Write it down including any letters at the end.

Glass or thermal. These are different products with different bases and lids. If your existing carafe is glass with a warming plate underneath, you need a glass carafe. If it is insulated with a stopper lid, you need a thermal carafe. The two are not interchangeable.

The capacity. Most carafes are sized in cups. Your machine's manual will confirm the correct capacity. Ordering a different size will affect the lid seal and may not sit correctly on the warming plate.

Send us a photo of your existing carafe along with your coffee machine model number. We'll confirm the right replacement before you spend anything.

Coffee machine carafe FAQ

How do I know which carafe fits my coffee machine?

Check the model number on the base or back of your machine and match it to the product listing. Carafes vary by brand, model, and capacity. The model number is the only reliable way to confirm fit.

Can I replace just the lid on my carafe?

Sometimes yes, sometimes no. If the lid is a separate part listed for your model, it can be replaced on its own. If it is integrated into the carafe design, you'll need the full carafe. Send us a photo of the lid and your machine model and we'll check what's available.

What is the difference between a glass and thermal carafe?

A glass carafe sits on a warming plate which keeps coffee hot. A thermal carafe is insulated and keeps coffee hot without a plate. They have different bases and are not interchangeable. Match the type to what your machine originally came with.

My Delonghi carafe broke. Can I get a replacement in NZ without waiting weeks?

Yes. Delonghi has no official NZ parts store and parts typically ship from Australia. We stock Delonghi coffee machine parts including carafes in NZ with same day dispatch from Palmerston North.

Is it worth replacing a carafe or should I just buy a new coffee machine?

Worth replacing. A carafe costs a fraction of a new machine and the machine itself is usually fine. Most people replace a carafe after it breaks or cracks, not because anything else is wrong with the appliance.
