Food processor blades are model specific. A blade from one Kenwood model will not fit another even within the same range. Match your model number before ordering. Send us a photo of the old blade and your food processor model number if you are not sure.

How to find the right food processor blade

Food processor blades vary in shaft diameter, hub size, blade geometry, and disc locking mechanism. A blade that looks similar can be incompatible if any of these differ.

Before you order, check three things:

Your model number. It is on a sticker on the base of the food processor. For Kenwood models it starts with FP, FDM, or CH. Write it down in full.

The blade type. Note whether you need a chopping blade, a slicing disc, or a shredding disc. These are different parts and are not interchangeable. Also note the hub size and whether the blade has a central stem or a flat bottom.

The product listing. Every listing states which models it fits. Match your model number to the compatibility list before adding to cart.

Send us a photo of the old blade and your food processor model number. We'll confirm the right replacement before you spend anything.

Signs your food processor blade needs replacing

Watch for these before the motor takes on the extra load:

  • Chopping is uneven, leaving large pieces even on a long processing time

  • A blade is visibly chipped, bent, or has a nick on the cutting edge

  • The blade feels dull when tested carefully against a fingernail

  • A scraping or grinding sound during processing

  • The blade hub is cracked and the blade wobbles during use

A dull or damaged blade puts more strain on the motor. Processing the same ingredient takes longer and the motor runs hotter. Replacing the blade keeps the motor running efficiently and the cut consistent.

Fitting food processor blades

Most people have blades swapped in under a minute. The chopping blade lifts straight off the central shaft. 

Safety Note

Food processor blades are extremely sharp. Always unplug the food processor before fitting or removing any blade. Hold blades by the hub or central stem, never the cutting edge.

How do I know which blade fits my food processor?

Check the model number on the base of the food processor and match it to the product listing. Blade shaft diameter and hub size vary between models even within the same brand.

Can I sharpen food processor blades instead of replacing them?

You can but it is rarely the right call. Food processor blades are designed to a specific geometry and sharpening changes that. A replacement blade will give a cleaner cut and last longer than a sharpened old one.

My food processor blade hub is cracked. Can I still use it?

No. A cracked hub means the blade can separate from the shaft during operation. Replace it before using the machine again.

I ordered the wrong blade. What should I do?

Contact us. If the blade is unused and in original packaging it can be returned within 14 days. Next time, send us your model number before ordering and we'll confirm the right blade before you pay.
