Description
A failed bottom bake element on a 90cm oven shows up as uneven browning, cakes that stay raw underneath, and a noticeably longer preheat time. The bottom element does most of the work in standard bake mode on these large freestanding cookers, so when it goes open circuit the oven loses much of its bottom heat output.
This is the original Fisher & Paykel and DeLonghi 90cm oven bottom bake element, part codes 062073004 and 573648, used across the OR90S Series and a wide range of related DeLonghi, Elba, and PEMA / PEMX / PEMW branded 90cm ovens. It replaces the older codes SFP962 and EUT517.

How to Use and Installation Notes
- Switch off the oven at the wall isolator and confirm the cavity is cold.
- Remove the oven racks, side runners, and floor plate to expose the bottom element fixing screws.
- Photograph the wiring at the rear of the failed element before disconnecting anything.
- Undo the two fixing screws at the rear of the cavity and ease the element forward, taking care not to bend the element coils against the cavity walls.
- Disconnect the terminal connections, noting the orientation of each wire.
- Reverse the steps to fit the new 573648 element, reconnecting wires to the matching terminals and torqueing screws firmly but not over tightly.
- Refit the floor plate, side runners, and oven racks.
- Restore power, run the oven on bake at 180C for 15 to 20 minutes empty to burn off any manufacturing residue, then confirm even heat from the floor of the cavity.
