Simpson Replacement Parts NZ: Dryers, Washing Machines, Ovens and Dishwashers
Simpson machines keep going for years, and the parts that wear out are the cheap ones. A belt, an element, a thermostat. This collection covers Simpson parts across dryers, washing machines, ovens and dishwashers, dispatched from our NZ warehouse. Many Simpson parts are shared with Electrolux and Westinghouse too.
About Simpson Appliances
The most common Simpson appliances in NZ homes are vented dryers, top-load washing machines, and freestanding ovens. Because Simpson sits in the Electrolux group, a large number of Simpson parts are identical to Westinghouse and Electrolux parts and carry shared part numbers.
On the dryers, the parts that fail most often are the drive belt and the door switch. On washing machines it is pumps, valves and door seals. On ovens it is elements, thermostats and seals. None of these are major jobs when you have the right part.
The model number is on a label on the appliance. On dryers it is usually around the door opening or on the rear. Write it down exactly, including the star or asterisk codes that Simpson uses. If you are not sure which part fits, the parts lists and diagrams page has exploded views, or search by model to narrow it down.
Signs Your Simpson Appliance Needs a New Part
- Dryer drum not turning or making a loud squealing noise. The drive belt has stretched or snapped. This is the most common Simpson dryer fault and the belt is cheap to replace.
- Dryer running but no heat, so clothes come out warm and damp. The heating element has failed. The drum still turns but no heat is being produced.
- Dryer cutting out partway through a cycle. A tripped thermostat or thermal fuse, often caused by a blocked vent or lint buildup restricting airflow. Clear the vent first, then check the thermostat.
- Dryer not starting at all when you press start. The door switch has failed and the machine reads the door as open even when it is shut.
- Washing machine not draining or not filling. Check the drain pump for blockages first, then the inlet valves if water is not coming in.
- Oven not heating or heating unevenly. A failed oven element is the usual cause. Check the element for visible burn marks or breaks before ordering.
- How to Find the Right Simpson Part
Simpson uses model numbers with star or asterisk codes, like 39S550K star 03. Write the full code down exactly as it appears on the label. The part you need is matched to that code, and a small difference can mean a different part.
Because Simpson shares parts with Electrolux and Westinghouse, the part you need may be listed under any of those brands. If a part number is stamped on the old part, search that directly. Otherwise, search by model or check the parts lists and diagrams page to identify the part by position.
Not sure which part has failed or which to order? Send us the full model number and a description of the fault. We will point you to the right part.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: My Simpson dryer drum will not turn. What part do I need?
Almost certainly the drive belt. It stretches and snaps over time, and when it goes the motor runs but the drum does not turn. You may also hear a squealing noise just before it fails. It is a cheap part and one of the most common Simpson dryer repairs.
Are Simpson parts the same as Electrolux or Westinghouse parts?
Many are. Simpson is part of the Electrolux group, so a large number of parts are shared across Simpson, Westinghouse and Electrolux and carry the same part numbers. If you cannot find a part under Simpson, it is worth checking the Electrolux group range.
Can I fit Simpson dryer parts myself?
Belts, lint filters, door switches and hinges are manageable for most people. The heating element and any wiring work must be done by a licensed technician under NZ rules. If you are not sure which category your part falls into, ask us before you start.
How do I read my Simpson model number?
It is on a label around the door opening or on the rear of the machine. Simpson uses star or asterisk codes in the model number. Write the whole thing down exactly, as the code affects which part you need.
What is your returns policy?
Returns are accepted on unused parts, but a 20% restocking fee applies to wrong-model orders, so match your model carefully first. Full details are in our returns policy.
