This filter is confirmed for older Fisher and Paykel freestanding refrigerator models in the E522, E402, E442, RF522, RF402, RF442, RF610, RF201, RF540, RF90, and RF170 series (verified from the Fisher and Paykel NZ official site). Before ordering, check the part number printed on your current filter and confirm it visually matches the product image on the listing. How to Use and Installation Notes
- Unplug the fridge or ensure the water supply is isolated before starting.
- Locate the external water filter housing on your fridge.
- Twist the old 836848 / 862285 filter anticlockwise and pull it free from the housing.
- Insert the new filter cartridge and twist clockwise until it locks securely into the housing.
- Restore the water supply and power, then run approximately two litres of water through the dispenser to flush the new filter.
- Reset the filter indicator on your fridge's control panel if applicable -- refer to your model's user manual for the reset procedure.
- Replace every six months, or when the filter icon on the control panel illuminates.
