Dyson

Your Dyson has lost suction. Or the brush bar won't spin, the battery won't hold a charge, a hose has split, or a filter is clogged and grey.

Dyson vacuums are built to be repaired, not thrown out, and most of the time poor performance comes down to one worn part. Not the whole machine. We stock Dyson vacuum parts including filters, hoses, floor tools, brushes and more, dispatched from our NZ warehouse.

What parts we stock

Dyson vacuums are common across New Zealand homes, and so are the parts that wear out. We carry replacement parts across the range, including:

  • Filters, the most common cause of lost suction

  • Hoses, both inlet and internal

  • Floor tools, brushes and brush bars

  • Handles, wands and attachments

  • Bags and accessories for models that use them

If you can't see what you need listed, email us your model number. We can often source Dyson parts that aren't shown online.

How to find your model number

This is the single most important step, and it's where most wrong orders start. Dyson has made many vacuum models over the years, and parts are not shared across all of them. Filter shape, hose fittings, brush bar size and tool connections all change between models, and a part that looks close can fit a different machine.

Where to look:

  • Upright and barrel vacuums: on a label on the body of the machine.

  • Cordless and stick vacuums: on a label on the main body, often near the bin or battery.

Write the number down exactly. The Dyson name alone won't narrow it down. Still not sure you've got the right part? Send us the model number and a photo and we'll confirm it before you pay.

Genuine vs compatible parts

Some Dyson parts are genuine, made or supplied by the original manufacturer. Others are compatible replacements built to do the same job. Both can be the right choice depending on the part and your budget.

Genuine parts match the original exactly. Good compatible parts are a sound, often cheaper option for many common repairs, like filters and brushes. What matters most either way is that the part fits your model, so the model number still comes first. Tell us when you order and we'll confirm what a part is before it ships.

Fitting parts and a safety note

A Dyson part should be fitted by someone with the right expertise. That can be you, and with most Dyson parts it usually will be. Swapping a filter, a hose, a floor tool, a brush bar or an attachment is designed to be quick and tool-free, the old one comes off and the new one goes on the same way.

If you can do the job yourself, you can. But if it's not something you're confident with, hire a professional to fit the part. Some repairs are different. Anything involving the motor, internal wiring or the battery pack is more involved, and that work should be left to a qualified technician. If you're unsure which kind of job yours is, email us before you start and we'll tell you.

Dyson parts FAQ

My Dyson has lost suction. What do I order?

Start with the filter. A clogged or worn filter is the most common cause of lost suction, and it's the cheapest fix. If the filter is clean, check for a blocked or split hose next. Send us your model number if you're not sure which part you need.

Where do I find my Dyson model number?

It's on a label on the body of the machine. On cordless and stick models it's often near the bin or battery. Write it down exactly, because Dyson parts vary a lot between models.

Should I get genuine or compatible Dyson parts?

Both can be right. Genuine parts match the original exactly. Good compatible parts, especially filters and brushes, do the same job and often cost less. The part fitting your model matters more than the label, so lead with your model number.

Can I fit Dyson parts myself?

Most Dyson parts, yes. Filters, hoses, floor tools, brush bars and attachments are designed to swap out tool-free. Motor, internal wiring and battery work is more involved and should be left to a qualified technician. If you're not sure, ask us.
