Food Processor Parts
Your food processor won't start. Or the bowl won't lock, the blade's gone blunt, the lid cracked, or it runs but the blade doesn't turn. A food processor is built around a few key parts, and when one fails the whole machine sits unused.
Most of the time it's a single worn part. Not the motor, and not a reason to replace the machine. We stock replacement food processor parts including blades, bowls, lids, drive belts, couplers and more, dispatched from our NZ warehouse.
How to find the right food processor part
This is where most wrong orders start. Food processor parts are not universal. Bowl size and locking design, blade fitting, the drive coupler and belt type all change between models, and a part that looks close can fit completely differently.
Check three things before you order:
-
Know your model number. It's on a label on the base of the machine. Write it down exactly, letters and numbers. The brand name alone won't get you the right part.
-
Work out which part actually failed. A processor that runs but doesn't turn the blade is usually a belt or coupler, not the motor. A bowl that won't lock may have a worn lug, or the safety switch it presses may be the problem. Look before you order.
-
Keep the old part. If you've still got the worn blade, bowl, coupler or belt, hold onto it. Matching the real part for size and fitting beats guessing from a photo.
Still not sure? Don't guess. Send us your model number and a clear photo of the part you think has failed, and we'll confirm the right fit before you pay.
Signs you need to replace a food processor part
The processor doesn't have to die completely before it's worth fixing. Watch for:
-
The motor runs but the blade or disc doesn't turn, or turns weakly
-
The bowl won't lock onto the base, or the lid won't lock onto the bowl
-
A burning smell, or a slipping sound under a normal load
-
The blade has gone blunt, chipped, or no longer cuts cleanly
-
A cracked or split bowl, lid, or pusher
-
The machine cuts out mid-task, or won't start at all
Catch it early. A worn belt or coupler left to slip can wear the parts around it, and a cracked bowl or lid only gets worse with use.
Fitting it and a safety note
A food processor part should be fitted by someone with the right expertise. That can be you, if you're confident with the job. Swapping a blade, bowl, lid or pusher is usually a no-tools job, the old one comes off and the new one goes on the same way. Internal repairs like belts, couplers or drive parts mean opening the housing, and that's more involved.
If you can do the job yourself, go for it. But if it's not something you're confident with, hire a professional to fit the part, someone with the right experience to open the machine, fit the part correctly and put it back together safely. Email us before you start if you're unsure what's involved.

Food processor parts FAQ
My processor runs but the blade won't turn. What do I order?
Usually a drive belt or a coupler, the part that carries drive from the motor to the blade. If the motor sounds normal but nothing turns, the drive has failed between the two. Send us your model number and we'll point you to the right part.
Are food processor bowls and blades universal?
No. Bowl size, locking design and blade fitting all vary between models. A bowl or blade that looks the right size can fit a different machine. Always match to your model, or to the old part you're replacing.
My bowl won't lock and the machine won't start. What's wrong?
Most food processors won't run until the bowl and lid are locked, because they press a safety switch. A worn locking lug on the bowl, or a worn switch, can stop that happening. Send us your model number and a photo and we'll help you work out which it is.
Can I fit food processor parts myself?
For blades, bowls and lids, yes, those swap out by hand. For internal parts like belts and couplers, it depends on your confidence with opening the machine. If you're not sure, it's worth having someone with the right experience do it.
Can't see the part you need, or not sure what's failed? Email us your model number and we'll help you find it.
