Kenwood Food Processor Parts

Your Kenwood food processor won't start. Or the bowl won't lock, the blade's blunt, the lid's cracked, or it runs but the blade doesn't turn. Kenwood food processors are built to last, and most of the time a fault is one worn part.

Not the motor, and not a reason to replace the machine. We stock replacement parts for Kenwood food processors including blades, bowls, lids, drive parts and attachments, dispatched from our NZ warehouse.

How to find the right Kenwood part

This is where most wrong orders start. Kenwood makes many food processor models, and parts are not shared across all of them. Bowl size and locking design, blade fitting and the drive coupler all change between model ranges, and a part that looks close can fit a different machine entirely.

Check three things before you order:

  • Know your model number. It's on a label on the base of the machine, usually starting with letters then numbers. Write it down exactly. The Kenwood name alone won't narrow it down.

  • Work out which part actually failed. A processor that runs but doesn't turn the blade is usually a coupler or drive part, not the motor. A bowl that won't lock may have a worn lug, or the safety switch may be the problem. Look before you order.

  • Keep the old part. If you've still got the worn blade, bowl, lid or coupler, hold onto it. Matching the real part for size and fitting beats guessing from a photo or memory.

Still not sure? Don't guess. Send us your Kenwood model number and a clear photo of the part you think has failed, and we'll confirm the right fit before you pay. We also have model-specific collections for some Kenwood machines, including parts for the Kenwood FDM785, the FDM791, and the FDM79 range.

Signs you need to replace a Kenwood food processor part

The processor doesn't have to die completely before it's worth fixing. Watch for:

  • The motor runs but the blade or disc doesn't turn, or turns weakly

  • The bowl won't lock onto the base, or the lid won't lock onto the bowl

  • A burning smell, or a slipping sound under a normal load

  • The blade has gone blunt, chipped, or no longer cuts cleanly

  • A cracked or split bowl, lid, or pusher

  • The machine cuts out mid-task, or won't start at all

Catch it early. A worn coupler or drive part left to slip can wear the parts around it, and a cracked bowl or lid only gets worse with use.

Fitting it and a safety note

A Kenwood food processor part should be fitted by someone with the right expertise. That can be you, if you're confident with the job. Swapping a blade, bowl, lid or pusher is usually a no-tools job, the old one comes off and the new one goes on the same way. Internal repairs like couplers and drive parts mean opening the housing, and that's more involved.

If you can do the job yourself, go for it. But if it's not something you're confident with, hire a professional to fit the part, someone with the right experience to open the machine, fit the part correctly and put it back together safely. Email us before you start if you're unsure what's involved.

Kenwood food processor parts FAQ

How do I find my Kenwood model number?

It's on a label on the base of the machine, usually a code of letters then numbers, like FDM785. Write it down exactly. If your machine matches one of our model-specific collections, that's the quickest way to find the right parts.

Are Kenwood food processor parts universal across models?

No. Bowl size, locking design, blade fitting and the drive coupler all vary between Kenwood models. A part that looks right can fit a different machine. Always match to your model, or to the old part you're replacing.

My Kenwood runs but the blade won't turn. What do I order?

Usually a coupler or drive part, the link between the motor and the blade. If the motor sounds normal but nothing turns, the drive has failed between the two. Send us your model number and we'll point you to the right part.

Can I fit Kenwood food processor parts myself?

For blades, bowls and lids, yes, those swap out by hand. For internal parts like couplers and drive parts, it depends on your confidence with opening the machine. If you're not sure, it's worth having someone with the right experience do it.

Can't see the part you need, or not sure what's failed? Email us your Kenwood model number and we'll help you find it.
