Replacement parts for the Kenwood MultiPro FDM785 food processor. Bowls, lids, blades, whisk attachments, drive shafts, and blender bases specifically for FDM785 and compatible FDM78 series models.

How to find the right FDM785 part

The Kenwood FDM785 shares parts with the FDM780 and FDM786 but not all parts cross over between models. The part code starting with KW is the most reliable identifier.

Before you order, check three things:

Confirm your model number. It is on a sticker on the base of the food processor. The FDM785 is part of the MultiPro range. Check the full code to confirm it is FDM785 and not a different FDM series.

The part code. Kenwood FDM785 parts carry codes starting with KW followed by six digits. If the old part has a KW code printed on it, match that code directly to the product listing.

The product listing. Every listing on this page states which FDM models it fits. Confirm your model code appears in the compatibility list before adding to cart.

Send us a photo of the old part along with the KW code if visible. We'll confirm the right replacement before you spend anything.

Signs your FDM785 needs a new part

Watch for these across the bowl, lid, and blade assembly:

  • The bowl has a crack or chip on the rim where the lid locks

  • The lid will not lock into position and the safety lock prevents the motor from running

  • The chopping blade is visibly chipped or the hub is cracked

  • The drive shaft is stripped and the blade spins without cutting

  • The whisk wires are bent or one wire has snapped

A cracked bowl or lid that does not lock is a safety issue. The FDM785 safety system prevents the motor from running without a locked lid. If the lid is damaged and bypassing the lock, stop using the machine immediately.

Fitting FDM785 parts

Most FDM785 parts swap in without tools. The Kenwood FDM785 main bowl KW715705 lifts off the motor base and the replacement drops on. The chopping blade KW715708 lifts off the drive shaft and the replacement drops on the same way.

The blender liquidiser base KW715728 attaches to the motor base in place of the food processor bowl. It clicks on and off.

Safety Note

Unplug the food processor before removing or fitting any part. The chopping blade is extremely sharp. Hold it by the hub, not the cutting edge.

Are FDM785 parts the same as FDM780 parts?

Most are. The FDM785, FDM780, and FDM786 share a large number of parts within the KW715XXX range. Check the compatibility list on the product page to confirm your specific model is listed.

My FDM785 will not start. The motor hums but nothing happens. What is the issue?

Check that the bowl and lid are both locked correctly. The FDM785 has a safety interlock that prevents the motor from running unless both are locked. If they are locked and the motor still will not run properly, the drive shaft or blade coupling may be stripped.

Can I get genuine Kenwood parts for the FDM785 in NZ?

My FDM785 bowl is cracked at the handle. Is that a safety issue?

Yes. A crack at the handle can spread and the bowl can fail during use. Replace it before using the food processor again.

The lid on my FDM785 does not lock and the machine will not start. What do I order?

The lid itself may be cracked or the locking tab may have broken. Send us a photo of the lid showing the locking mechanism and we will confirm whether you need just the lid or the full bowl and lid kit.
