Electrolux & AEG Dryer Parts NZ: Capacitors, Filters, Belts, Bearings & PCBs

Need Electrolux or AEG dryer parts? This collection covers the whole Electrolux group. That includes Electrolux, AEG, Simpson, and Westinghouse dryers sold in New Zealand. Common fixes include the 8uF capacitor and the 1930 drum belt. Both cross between the group brands. Genuine and quality compatible parts in stock. Browse below or send us your model number.

About Electrolux Dryer Parts

Here's the thing with the Electrolux group. Electrolux, AEG, Simpson, and Westinghouse all share parts across the brands. A belt that fits a Simpson Genius often fits an Electrolux EDV of the same era. So if you can't find what you need here, have a look at the Simpson dryer parts collection too.

An Electrolux dryer has the same basic parts as any vented or condenser machine. Motor spins the drum. Belt connects motor to drum. Bearings let the drum rotate. Capacitor kicks the motor. Element heats the air. Thermostat watches temperature. Lint filter catches fluff. Newer models have a control PCB that runs the programs, sensors, and display.

When a dryer is slow, noisy, or won't start, it's almost always one of these parts. Most are a straightforward DIY job with a screwdriver and a socket set. PCB replacements are the exception, call a tech if you're not confident around electronics.

Signs You Need a New Electrolux Dryer Part

  • Drum spins but nothing dries. Failed heating element, blown thermal fuse, or a dodgy thermostat.

  • Loud rumble or squeal from the drum. Worn drum bearings. Runs rough, gets worse, then seizes.

  • Motor hums but drum won't turn. Failed motor capacitor. Common on dryers that haven't been used over winter.

  • Drum turns but no heat. Check the thermal fuse and element continuity with a multimeter. A blocked vent can effect both.

  • Control panel dead or lights flashing. PCB fault. Sometimes repairable, often needs replacement.

  • Door won't latch. Worn door catch or a bent strike plate. Quick swap.

  • Lint filter won't sit flush. Cracked filter frame or bent slot. Replace the filter.

How to Find the Right Electrolux Dryer Part

Parts within the Electrolux group cross over a lot, but not always. Getting the right part means starting with your dryer's model number and product number.

The data plate lives inside the door openings, on the back of the dryer, or under the top lid on some older machines. Electrolux and AEG show both a model number (PNC/ENR) and a product number. Something like EDV605HQWA or AEG T65280AC.

Got the numbers? Search on our site. For AEG condenser dryers with the 1287H8 belt, the 1287H8 AEG belt is the one. If your belt slips even when new, check the idler tensioner pulley too. A seized idler is a common cause of early belt failure.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Do Electrolux, AEG, Simpson, and Westinghouse dryer parts cross over?

A: Often yes. All four are part of the Electrolux group and parts are shared across brands of the same era. A belt or capacitor from one might fit another. Match on model number to be sure.

Can I replace an Electrolux dryer PCB myself?

You can, but be careful. Note every wire before you unplug anything, or take a photo of the board. Do the swap on a bench, not with the board still in the dryer. If you're unsure, get a tech, a wrong connection will fry the new board.

How do I test an Electrolux dryer thermostat?

Unplug the dryer. Pull the thermostat and test continuity across the terminals with a multimeter. A working one reads closed (continuity) at room temperature. No reading means it's open-circuit and dead.

Where do I find the PNC or product number on my AEG dryer?

Same data plate as the model number, usually inside the door frame. It's a 9-digit number starting with 916 or 913. We use the PNC to confirm the right part for your specific build.

Are your Electrolux dryer parts genuine?

We stock genuine Electrolux group parts where available, plus tested compatible parts for older models and common-wear items like capacitors. Each product page tells you which you're getting.
