Fisher & Paykel Dryer Parts NZ: Bearings, Belts, Capacitors & More
Need Fisher & Paykel dryer parts? You're in the right spot. This collection covers the stuff that fails most on F&P dryers. Drum bearings. Drive belts. Motor capacitors. Lint filters, door catches, and thermostats too. If your dryer vents out the front, the front-venting dryer belt is what you need. Vents out the back? Grab the rear-venting belt instead. Browse below, or flick us your model number and we'll sort you out.
About Fisher & Paykel Dryer Parts
Your F&P dryer is pretty simple once you know the bits. The motor spins the drum. A rubber belt wraps around the drum and motor pulley, and runs over a belt pulley that keeps tension on the belt. A capacitor gives the motor the kick it needs to start. An element heats the air. The thermostat cuts power if things get too toasty.
Things wear out. Drum bearings get noisy and rumble. Belts stretch and snap. Capacitors lose their charge and the motor just sits there humming. A clogged lint filter can double your drying time, and it can cook the element if you leave it long enough.
Good news: most of these parts are an easy DIY fix. You'll need a screwdriver, maybe a socket set, and about half an hour. Always unplug the dryer at the wall first. And wait a minute or two before touching the capacitor, they hold charge even after the power's off.
Signs You Need a New Dryer Part
-
Drum squeals or rumbles when it spins, that's a worn bearing. It only gets louder from here.
-
The drum stops turning but the motor keeps running. The belt's snapped or stretched. Open the door and give the drum a spin by hand to check.
-
The motor hums but the drum won't start. Dead capacitor. Super common if the dryer's been sitting unused over winter.
-
Clothes take forever to dry. Blocked lint filter, tired element, or a dodgy thermostat. Clean the filter first.
-
Drum spins but no heat at all. Blown thermal fuse, dead element, or a broken thermostat. Cheap stuff to check first.
-
The door keeps popping open mid-cycle. Worn door catch or a bent striker. Five-minute job.
-
Burning smell when the dryer runs. Lint's built up on the element. Stop the dryer and give it a clean before you go any further.
How to Find the Right Fisher & Paykel Dryer Part
Every F&P dryer has its own model number, and the parts change between models. A belt off an AD55 won't go near a DE50F56. So getting the right part starts with finding that number.
The sticker is usually inside the door frame when you open the door, or on the back of the dryer, or sometimes tucked behind the front panel. F&P dryer models start with letters like DE, ED, AD, or the Cleansmart DH range. Something like DE60F60HW1 or AD55.
Got the number? Type it into our search bar or browse the full F&P parts range. Stuck? Send us the number with a photo of the old part. Popular items like drum bearings, capacitors, and the yoke tensioner go out same or next business day.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know which belt fits my Fisher & Paykel dryer?
It comes down to model number. Front-vent F&P dryers take the 410010P, rear-vent ones take the 460529P. Cleansmart dryers are different again. Send us the model if you're not sure.
Can I replace a Fisher & Paykel dryer bearing myself?
Yep, but it's more work than a belt swap. You pull the back panel off, take the drum out, then press the old bearing off the shaft. Socket set, soft mallet, and an hour or so. Unplug the dryer first. Keep the bearings life in mind too, if it failed early there's usually something else causing it, like a dragging drum.
My dryer hums but the drum won't turn. Belt or capacitor?
Open the door and spin the drum by hand. Turns freely and you hear the motor hum? Capacitor. Drum feels stiff or locked up? Belt or bearings.
Are your Fisher & Paykel dryer parts genuine?
Both. Genuine F&P where we can get them, tested compatible parts for older or discontinued models. Every product page tells you which you're buying.
How fast is delivery?
Same or next business day from our NZ warehouse. Most orders land in 1 to 3 working days with NZ Post or NZ Couriers. Ordered wrong? Send it back unused within 30 days.
